Phantom Screens Australia (Mfg) Pty Ltd is the Southern Hemisphere’s premier provider of retractable screening and shading solutions priding ourselves on outstanding service, warranty and maintenance. Phantom Screens was founded in 1995 in Edwardstown, South Australia by the Swaffer family and remains a family owned business today.
Phantom was founded on the principle that there is a better alternative to conventional insect screens. While these screens are functional in improving ventilation and keeping insects outside, they lacked style and sophistication. Conventional screens often block a homeowner’s view and detract from the style and décor of their home. The Phantom founders recognised this as an opportunity and set out to find a better solution – one that had the customer’s aesthetic, lifestyle and functional needs in mind.
Phantom took proven European and North American technology and innovatively adapted it to suit the design of Australian homes. The result was the first generation “Phantom” screen. This retractable screening system quickly became popular with homeowners and contractors alike.
All of Phantom’s products are manufactured using top quality aluminium extrusions which are powder coated in the Dulux Powder Coating range within our premises. All of our products are chromate pre-treated making ours the only marine approved retractable screening and shading system on the market.
Since 1995, Phantom has rapidly grown to meet customer demand for its innovative products. Improvements have been made to the original Phantom screen, and we now also manufacture the Executive Motorised Screen for oversized applications, capable of spanning up to 8 metres wide and 5 metres high and the Serene Window Screen, capable of spanning up to 3 metres wide and 2.3 metres high. All of our products are available in insect, shading and blockout fabrics. In the second half of 2012 we added the Brio retractable pleated screen to our product range. Whilst we do not manufacture this product, it has been successfully welcomed and accepted by our entire Phantom Dealer Network.
Phantom Screens NSW is also a family run business and proud to be a part of the Phantom Team. Duncan Freeman has been installing and servicing Phantom Screens in the Sydney region since 1997 - becoming owner of the NSW franchise in 2013 - and has a vast knowledge of all screen applications.
